I love this gift because your recipient can complete and enjoy it at their leisure. At a time when treats are in abundance it’s nice to have something that can be taken away on holiday or used later when the last of the shortbread and boxed chocolates have gone. It can be stored in a zip-lock bag and packaged in homemade Santa sacks with a wooden spoon, as I have done, or popped in a paper gift bag or a pretty box.

Makes 3 batches

1 cup caster sugar

1 cup brown sugar

1 cup flour

2/3 cup cocoa powder

1/2 tsp baking powder

1/4 cup dark choc chips

1/4 cup white choc chips

1/4 cup milk choc chips

1/2 cup macadamias, chopped

Place all the dry ingredients a zip-lock bag with the following instructions:

Add

4 eggs

1 cup vegetable oil

1 tsp vanilla extract

Stir until well combined and pour into a 26x18cm slice tin. Bake for 20-25 minutes at 180C.
