A love of fitness that originally brought fashionista Emma Milner and personal trainer Skaya Martino together as friends has now seen them open their second yoga studio together. The duo launched 24/7 Lifestyle Studio in Shenton Park this week after the success of their Sorrento space, which opened 18 months ago.

“It’s great because you appeal to a broader range, ” Milner told AAA . “So when clients are in just for the clothes, we start a conversation about yoga and might find they’ve always wanted to try it.”

The studios transform from a space for yoga and pilates classes in the mornings and evenings, even offering “Broga” for men, to retail zones during the day that stock labels including First Base, Camilla and Marc, Vie Active and Wild Fox. “A lot of studios are dead between their peak classes, it’s a waste of space, ” Martino said.

Clients have come from far and wide for classes with teachers including Amanda Bisk , formerly an Australian pole vaulter and now yoga enthusiast who has 320,000 Instagram followers.

Milner and Martino, who met 10 years ago, said the mix of exercise and fashion had been a winning combination thanks to the increasing popularity of “sport to street” wear and the support of high-profile clients such as Rayne Embley and Amy Zempilas .

“It’s really the go-to for so many clients, especially for mums because they’ve got to get the kids to school and it encourages you to get out for a walk or run if you’re already in the active wear, ” Milner said.
