The great thing about the web and social media is if you’re looking for something it’s bound to be just a click away.

There’s a plethora of sites set up to help spark your plans: from dresses, food and invitations to DIY projects and the perfect bouquet.

If you’re not sure where to begin, check these out:

Style Me Pretty

With close to six million followers on Pinterest, Style Me Pretty is at the top of its game. Search its “real weddings” section by style, season, flowers, location or — if it takes your fancy — try its budget or whimsical tags. It has it all.

Polka Dot Bride

This Australian site is a great place to start because everything’s a bit closer to home. We especially like the wisdom section, including interviews with the experts and lots of advice. Feel like some honeymoon inspiration while you’re at it? They’ve got that, too.

Green Wedding Shoes

With a reserved section for DIY wedding ideas, Green Wedding Shoes is perfect to help you create something different on your big day. Colourful mimosa bar? Done. Origami heart-shaped escort cards? Easy. There is also an option to search its galleries by colour.

The Lane

With wedding theme suggestions such as “marine decadence” and “wild rose”, it’s worth having a look at The Lane. It is more classic in its approach (think Tiffany & Co. and Vera Wang) but its “backstage” section isn’t without its candid shots.

Snippet and Ink

This site stands out for its “Snapshot of a Marriage” series, including pictures and interviews with couples married for at least a decade on what they think makes a successful marriage. Plus you’ll find a heap of wedding ideas.

100 Layer Cake

Don’t let the name fool you — there’s a lot more happening here than just cake. Check out its DIY projects, real weddings and colour scheme ideas for a bit of inspiration.

Ruffled

As well as general wedding ideas, Ruffled has a whole section featuring Australian weddings (including a few from WA). It also provides a beautiful wedding-by-flower guide, from amaranthus to wildflowers.

For the groom

The Plunge

It’s everything you want him to know - and he will want to read it. It’s funny, it’s informative and it’s inspiring — albeit in an entirely different way.
