New Zealand-based shower and tapware manufacturer Methven has released what it says is a revolution in shower design.

The new Aio collection uses Methven’s Aurajet technology, with a halo-shaped shower with hidden nozzles that generate individual jets of water that collide against precisely angled surfaces within the contours of the shower head, creating a fan of luxuriously dense droplets.

Methven Australia chief executive Mark Bejatovic said the breakthrough spray technology was developed after extensive research, including studies on consumer preferences which revealed that while the majority of Australians look for water-saving solutions, most would never compromise a good shower in favour of a water-saving one.

“The perfect shower is a deeply personal thing — if time in the shower is the only time you get to yourself, then you want it to be perfection, ” Mr Bejatovic said.

“The challenge for the industry has been to find a shower that balances consumer desire for water saving without compromising the showering experience.

“Our aim was to produce a shower that was as close to perfection as possible, delivering water saving without compromise in performance and design.

“Aurajet delivers this balance with achieving a pinnacle level of shower enjoyment as well as a three-star WELS rating with a peak flow rate of nine litres per minute.

“In fact we think Aurajet will be seen as one of the most significant developments in shower design and technology in history.”

Mr Bejatovic said Aurajet delivered twice the water coverage and up to 20 per cent more total spray force than conventional showers, creating a more invigorating and luxurious shower experience.

“The Aurajet Aio collection not only looks different, it is different, ” he said.

“Within the halo we have precision engineering and science combining to deliver the holy grail of showering — wider, even, luxurious coverage and enhanced droplet density. There is also recognition of the importance of bathroom design in terms of adding value to a home.

“So we have aligned with Pantone, the worldwide experts in colour, to provide a beautiful choice of limited-edition faceplate colours which can be updated as trends and interior fashions change.”

The Aio collection is priced from $261.99 and is available exclusively from Reece stores.
